Galleri Samsø – Skulpturværksted og overnatning
Galleri Samsø has been open since 2007 with changing exhibitions and guest artists in an informal setting of an industrial nature. Throughout the exhibitions are sculptural ceramics by Lea Grau Møller and wood and mixed sculptures by Morten Grau Møller.
Both artists put soul into their works, which appear with personality, character and a temperament that appeals to art enthusiasts and art associations. There is free entry and the possibility of a presentation of the works.
Galleri Samsø is run by volunteers without subsidy schemes. The gallery emphasizes sustainability wherever possible, and the combination of a natural plot with green lawns, mixed fruit trees, shrubs and deciduous trees, goats and donkeys helps to create a small oasis with great biodiversity. The natural grounds, a cozy farm environment and a beautiful sea view form the framework for the gallery.
The couple themselves live on site with their four creative girls, the two youngest of whom still live at home.
Combine a holiday with a course in ceramics: As something new, it is possible to sign up for a course in ceramics. Ceramics day is held on two Thursdays, where it is possible to get a tour of the workshop and hear more about courses for children or adults. If you are two or more people who are going on holiday on Samsø and at the same time would like to spend a week or a weekend making sculpture in clay - or learn the basic techniques for turning stoneware clay, contact the gallery via leaunika@gmail.dk or by tel. 29 89 28 56.
